Introduction
This blog is the official blog of RADIANT GAMEZ. Right now, there is only one person on the team. That's me. I am what people call an "Indie Developer". I am currently developing a 2D game with the name of "BLAZE". It is currently expected to release to Windows, Mac, and Linux. I am going to post updates on my progress of BLAZE. I would love feedback and suggestions once I get some images and maybe some videos up on the blog.Project BLAZE
BLAZE was mainly inspired by 0x10C, one of Notch's abandoned projects. I like to think of it as 0x10C, but in a 2D style. I currently have too little done on the game to actually show you anything worth your time. It is being developed in Java, using the Slick2D framework. To implement online multiplayer, I am using the KryoNet framework aswell. BLAZE is still in a really early stage, so if you have any suggestions on what you think it should be like, please, post a comment. I will read your suggestions.Okay, now that I have all that boring stuff out of the way, let me tell you what BLAZE really is. BLAZE will likely include these features:
- Online multiplayer
- Upgradable player abilities such as Health, Jetpack fuel capacity, and accuracy.
- Upgradable ship traits/abilities such as turrets, ship speed, ship health, and ship fuel capacity.
- Purchasable weapons
- Asteroid mining
- Trading with other players
- Currency system
If this is confusing, let me explain what would happen if you joined a server. You would spawn in the starter ship, somewhere in space. You would then try to survive. You would probably form a team with a few people you meet. Or, you could attack other players, and take their ships.
Suggestions
If you have any suggestions, based on what I have told you, feel free to post a comment on what you would like to see in the game. I will try my best to implement your suggestion into the game. Just as a reminder, please be nice and responsible in the comments.Thank you for reading my blog!
